Character Class Idea: Gunsmith

Hot on the heels of Krieg, the beautiful flaming bastard, I've decided to finally come to the forums with an idea for a character class I had a while back:

Gunsmith

"Once a slave in the hellish conditions of the Atlas Corporation's manufacturing plants, the Gunsmith now roams in search of the Vault, using his skill as a weapons maker to reverse-engineer the guns of once-competitors to build up his own."

Action skill: Forge
Turns all carried weapons into supercharged variations of themselves for the duration. Initially starts as a basic stats buff, but through the use of skills can add various effects to his weapons.

Skill trees:
Maliwan
Focuses on the addition and improvement of elemental effects, such as putting multiple elemental effects on a weapon, allowing multiple DoT proc stacking (a la the HellFire), or giving Slag weapons the benefit of their own bonus damage.

Torgue
Based on the use of grenades and rocket launchers. Can allow the Gunsmith to swap up how his grenades work, shoot multiple rockets at once, or add explosive damage to all of his weapons.

Anshin
Supercharges the Gunsmith's shields, allowing him to play a more defensive role and, to an extent, allows him to fight using only his shield. Would allow him to reduce and potentially negate shield recharge rate or add very powerful novas and spikes.


In general, the Gunsmith is intended to be able to turn most any weapon into something as crazy and over-the-top as most Legendary or Seraph weapons. And given an already-powerful weapon, he can become an unstoppable force.
