Roll to play -- Aegrus shenanigans

I did one of these on another forum and it turned out to be hilarious, so I figured I'd try it here. This is an interactive story thread where you can do anything -- no, seriously, anything. How it works is I'll start with a few sentences to set the scene. The next poster can choose any action of any variety, no matter how ridiculous! I'll use a number generator to get a value between 1-20; the success or failure of your action will be determined by the roll. Then I'll add a few sentences to the story, carrying out your activity to the pre-determined succes rate. This is intended to be cheeky and funny, so try not to freak out if/when your actions backfire miserably. We'll be playing as a bandit marauder named Boris, who is visiting the continent of Aegrus for the first time (initially anyway -- you can always fast-travel us elsewhere). also, watch out for "critical success" and "critical failures" of 1-2 or 19-20. Hopefully we'll all have some fun!

Here goes nothing.

Boris arrived in Hunter's Grotto. It was noon, and the sun was up. Some drifters could be seen off in the distance, and there was a small hut to the east. Also, there is a container about sixty feet away oping the path leading to the hut.
