Introducing the DPS Visualizer (0.5 beta, Jan 5)

DPS Visualizer

DPS Visualizer is a program that will calculate damage done by weapons in Borderlands 2. It will produce charts and graphs showing all sorts of damage statistics. You can compare up to 4 weapons at a time, and quickly, visually, see the differences.

The program perform a large number of calculations, counting and timing every shot fired, every reload, every proc and every bit of elemental damage. It sorts and averages and totals all these numbers and shows the results in easy-to-understand charts and graphs.

It will makes thousands of calculations, recording hundreds of events(shots, procs, reloads, DoT, and pellet counts) and spit out simple graphs.

You will never look at two weapons the same way again. And DPS Visualizer lets you compare up to 4 - FOUR - weapons at once.

This ain't no stinking DPS calculator.

Latest Version

The latest version is in BETA. This pretty much means it will break at some point. And the numbers will certainly not be accurate yet.(More on this later.)

If you can deal with some imperfections, feel free to download it and give it a whirl. If you find a bug, let me know on the Gearbox Forum and I'll do what I can to fix it.

There are no warranties on this beta. If your toes fall off, don't blame me.

The latest version is 0.5.28.73 BETA. It can be downloaded here. Unzip it and run the setup.exe. It is a Windows application and requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4. You probably already have this installed, but if not, you can find it here.

A sample database can be downloaded here so you can quickly play with the program without entering a lot of guns. This sample database contains 18 guns, just what I happened to have in my backpack.

Download the sample database, click on the Gun Database tab, click the Restore button, and browse to this file. WARNING: This will wipe out your current database!

Features

Compare up to 4 weapons at once.

Comparisons are shown using charts and graphs - no more numbers!

View damage per second averages for several time spans.

View damage done over the course of time spent firing.

View damage for enemies of all target types: Armor, Flesh and Shield.

Select either PT1 or TVHM results.

View key statistics, like shots fired, number of reloads, and number of procs.

Shows projectile damage and DoT damage done, as well as the total.

Automatically saves guns in a database for future use.

View raw data - every shot, proc, reload and DoT damage applied.

All of this is shown VISUALLY, using charts and graphs instead of numbers!

Add / Edit Gun

Load a gun card image so you can easily enter data. Zoom in and out using the slider.

Enter data quickly and easily:

Weapon Type, Element, and Manufacturer can be entered by typing minimum characters.

Type an "r" to jump right to Rocket Launcher. Typing an "s" will jump to Shock, and "sl" will jump to Slag.

Hit Enter or Tab to automatically move to the next field.

Once a gun is Saved it will be listed in the Compare List at the top of the screen. This will handle up to 4 weapons at once.

NOTE: Each gun must be unique. You will get an error if you try to enter another gun with if ALL stats identical. Just change one thing, and you will be able to enter the gun.

Clicking on a gun in the Compare List will let you choose the buttons on the side - Edit, Remove, or Duplicate.

Want to compare one weapon as if it came in all elements? Enter one gun, choose Duplicate, change the element and hit Save.

Clear the Compare List by selecting all guns and clicking Remove -this just clears the Compare List, and the guns will still be available in the database.

By default new guns are saved to the database for future use. The check box will avoid that if you just want to mess around. This setting is persistent - the program remembers your last choice.

Cool graphic huh? Kudos to AlexKidd for an awesome job there!

Gun Database

The Gun Database stores all guns for future use.

Double-click a gun and it will be added to the Compare List. Or click a gun then the Load button.

Clicking Edit will add all the stats to the Add / Edit Gun screen, where you can change any stat and save it.

Select one or more guns and then the Delete button to remove the gun(s) from the database PERMANENTLY.

NOTE: The Compare List is limited to 4 guns. The Load and Edit buttons will be disabled when the Compare List is full. You will get an error if you try to Load more guns than the Compare List can handle.

The Backup button will save a copy of the database. I suggest using this often - this is BETA software.

The Restore button will WIPE OUT the existing database and REPLACE IT with a backup file. Use with caution.

NOTE: Each gun must be unique. You will get an error if you try to enter another gun with if ALL stats identical. Just change one thing, and you will be able to enter the gun.

Damage Per Second

This tab shows 3 graphs listing the average DPS for all the weapons in the Compare List.

Each weapon's DPS is listed for all 3 target types - Armor, Flesh and Shield.

Buttons on the left let you choose to see PT1 results, or TVHM results.

There are also buttons to let you chose the time span - select the first 10 seconds of the fight, on up to the maximum time limit.

NOTE: "Maximum" is a time limit, and calculates all the damage done by the weapon after firing all the (typical) ammo you can carry for that weapon. All the charts show above, for instance, show the average damage done by 108 shots, since one can carry only 108 Sniper rounds.

The results take many things into account - the rate of fire, the time it takes to reload, how often the weapon procs, how much elemental damage it does. It even calculates the damage done by Tediore weapons when reloaded.

NOTE: This is a good time to mention the Screenshot button, which will save an image just like the one above. The first time you click that you will be prompted for a directory for saving the screenshots.Every time after that the button will simply save the current screen and do one of those stupid Windows "ding" sounds to let you know it worked. That button is how I saved all these screenshots, and I figured that someone might find it useful so I left it in.

Damage Over Time

This chart shows the amount of damage done (on the left) in a certain number of seconds (along the bottom).

This will let you see how much damage will be done in a fight, and when your ammo will run out.

The Bolshy Pooshka in this example (the dotted line) has a high rate of fire, and will consume all 108 rounds in about 60 seconds or so.The Banbury Snider (the solid light purple line) will last longer, but still doesn't do as much damage as the Pooshka.

Note that some DoT damage may still be happening after all bullets have been fired.

Again, the buttons on the left let you choose the Game Stage (PT1 or TVHM), the target type, and the length of time to chart. In this screenshot the Time Limit is set to maximum, so it's showing the results from all the rounds you can normally carry.

Damage Over A Short Time

This is another view, just showing the first 10 seconds of the fight. This is a good chart to view when fighting weaker enemies that .

This view will often point out which weapons are better for the short fights.

And that is something that no stinking DPS calculator will let you know.

Gun Statistics

A simple chart showing how many shots were fired, how many reloads where needed, and how many procs occurred.

These numbers do not change for PT1/TVHM or when fighting against different enemies, so those options are disabled for this chart.

You can still choose a Time Limit though, and see how many shots you'll get off in 10 or 20 seconds.

Damage Statistics

This chart shows the damage done by the projectiles themselves, the elemental damage done, and the total.

This chart is showing the damage versus Shielded enemies.

Damage Statistics

Same chart, showing damage against Armored enemies.

Raw Data, Per Event

This is getting hardcore here.

The program records hundreds of events - every shot fired, every reload, every proc and every time DoT is applied. That's all recorded here, in this table.

Time is calculated to the 1/1000 of a second.Damage is calculated to20 decimal places. Everything is calculated and recorded and saved in these tables.

The results for each of the guns can be viewed by choosing the appropriate selection on the left.

You can dump all the tables to CSV files, if you like, and pull the data up in a spreadsheet to run your own numbers.

This ain't no stinking DPS calculator.

Gun Damage, Per Second

This chart shows the damage done up each whole second.

That is, the row listed as "10" shows all the damage done in the first 10.000 seconds of firing.

Sometimes it's easier to understand this way. And it makes chart updated faster.

Options

This tab shows the program Options.

For now, it just shows a few directory locations. It will contain more options as the program progresses.

You probably don't even have to worry about these directories, since the program will ask when necessary. But this will show you where things are stored, and allow you to change them if necessary.

Why The Results In This Program Are Wrong

Wait, what? This program is wrong?

Yes. Yes it is. For many reasons, and not all of them are my fault.

1. Gun Cards Lie

Currently this program relies on the statistics listed on Gun cards, and those stats are not always correct.

The Rate Of Fire listed is wrong. I've done tests showing that the true RoF - calculated to 1/30 of a second - are off by as much as 12%.(Slower, by the way)

The Reload Time is wrong. Tests have shown that reloads times are also wrong, by as much as 9% - in the other direction.

The elemental damage shown is wrong. Several people have tested and seen that the total DoT applied is at least 2.6% more than the card shows.

2. The Gun Cards Don't Show Everything

There are many stats not shown on gun cards. Just take a look at the Gear Calculator output and you'll find many more stats.

3. It Does Not Account For Criticals

This *seriously* hurts many weapons, especially Jakobs guns with their hidden critical bonuses.

This SUCKS. but I'm working on it.

4. It Does Not Account For Accuracy

This program assumes that all projectiles - and Tediore reloads - hit the target and deal full damage.

It assumes that the enemy is a big, non-moving wall of flesh (or shields or armor).

This is BULLSH1T!

And this is my number 1 reason for wanting to write this program. I have some ideas that will consider accuracy, and criticals, and target distance.

But it's some complicated programming mixed with a complicated interface.

It will come later.

6. We Don't Know Everything About This Game

Borderlands 2 is quite complex, and we just don't know every little detail.

But we are learning, thanks to people like Duncanfogg and Bahroo3 and many, many others who spend time poking BL2 and figuring stuff out.

As we learn, this program will get better and more accurate.

Initial Release

Calculations Changelog

Version 0.5.28.73 beta - Jan 5, 2012

Everything is calculated using the stats from the Gun Card. We know that RoF, Reload, and DoT are all wrong. But more testing is required to determine rules for calculating this accurately for every gun.

Tediore reloads do 1 round's worth of damage, since the gun is always empty when a reload occurs. This is not accurate for all weapons, but more testing is required to determine rules for calculating this.

Damages are adjusted for PT1/TVHM using the modifiers in Bahroo3'sthread. For quick reference, these are:

Damage is calculated using the stats from the Gun Card. The current Game Stage setting is checked, and the target type. The calculated damage is then adjusted by multiplying it by the appropriate number on the above chart. This adjusted damage is what is shown on the charts.

Note that I deal with Explosive a little bit different than the wayBahroo3 currently describes in his thread.

There's probably some other things that I am forgetting. Ask and I will explain what I am doing in the program.

If I am doing something wrong, let me know.

If I am not doing something I should, let me know.

I would like to make this as accurate as possible.

Credits

Many thanks to AlexKidd for the awesome graphic!

Many thanks to many folks in the Borderlands community who have dug into this game to figure out the nuts and bolts and math.

This program would not be possible without the thread by Bahroo3, Breakdown of Game Mechanics. Kudos. That's a fine piece of work.

This program, and all of the things I've learned about this game, would not be possible with the teaching by s620ex1, duncanfogg, instant karma, and a slew of others who researched BL1 and helped me research BL1 and put up with my wall-of-text posts back in the day.

There's many others I haven't mentioned, just because I'm too tired. Sorry.

When I think of the word raid in raid boss I think of a map designed just for a boss with mini bosses before the main boss. Not a boss that you just walk out of the area and it respawns so here's my idea. After each mini boss is a rest section with a ammo dump and health machine then you go through more mobs to get to the next boss. I didn't add that much info on a lot of stuff cause I'm doing this as I think and type on my tablet feel free to add cover art if you like the idea and more info if you want. Thanks guys I'll appreciate all inputs good and bad. Its my first time making a boss raid type post in life so give me a little break have fun :dukestar:

Psychos1s' Skimpy Punk Gaige Mod (TexMod)

After taking a little break from Borderlands 2 I deciced I needed to come back and finish it before diving into all the great games purchased during the latest Steam Holiday Sale. Before coming back I did some searching to see if there were any mods for the game. I came from Skyrim that was made to be modded. I was hoping Borderlands 2 had some of this for PC owners but figured it would be pretty minimal.

I came across Double Trouble's TexMods. I thought they were great starts but wanted to make it as professional as possible and also maintain some of the lore and Borderlands style. Basically I wanted to make the skin skimpy but make it look like Gearbox's original designers had created it. Some of the textures I've found look great in small youtube videos but up close you see how low quality the texture work is. They also didn't fit the "comic" cell-shaded look.

The original intent for this mod was only to be used for my personal use. After playing for awhile and showing off to my friends, I figured others may enjoy it as well.

Please note this mod only runs locally. You are the only one that will see the custom textures.

Download Psychos1s Skimpy Punk Gaige Skin

Installation
It does require TexMod which can be found at http://www.tombraiderhub.com/tr7/modding/index.html.

The video I used for reference to learn how to use texmod with Borderlands 2 was by TheAdiposeTV. The video can be found here.

If you are just using texmod to load custom textures it's pretty simple:

1. Copy/unzip the texmod.exe file into your Borderlands 2 directory most likely found at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32
2. Rename the original Launcher.exe to something else. I just did Launcher_main.exe.
3. Rename the textmod.exe to Launcher.exe. (this makes it so Steam launches the texmod application instead of the original launcher app).
4. In the TexMod popup select where your Borderlands 2 exe directory is (same as above). With "Package Mod" tab selected click the little folder icon and select one of the tpf files I or anyone else created.

Like the video I have linked above describes, your antivirus software will most likely go off. I had to manually allow an exception for TexMod to run properly. In order for AVG to run I had to setup an exception for C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Temp. I'm a little cautious so I make sure I uncheck the box when I'm done for the day. It's a pain and may not be worth it to you.

About the author
You may or may not know my alias if you come Skyrim. I'm the author of the most popular custom race mod for Skyrim through Skyrim Nexus. If you google "Temptress Race" you can check it out. It's for mature audiences but there are several videos on youtube that show what it is. I'm not here to promote the Temptress Race so will leave it at that.

I hope you enjoy my mod. It may not be for everyone but I had fun making it nonetheless.

Regards.

loader character concept.

had an idea about 5 minutes ago.

im thinking of some kind of advanced loader, that was in the prototype stages of development. you being the loader are more advanced, quicker and more humanoid in your movements.

simple backstory: hyperion were making more advanced loaders (smarter ones that don't fall apart) and they create you as a prototype, but you have too many emotions or atleast your compassionate enough to not want to work for jack. you seek the vault to stop him.

notes: is fire resistant, but weak to corrosive. (opposite to the others)
size: Brick size. a little wider.
action skill
eruption
RPG loader attack (fires heat seeking missles), can move while using action
skill.
duration: 8 seconds
cooldown: 40 seconds

gamechanger skill 1 (no title yet)
(create a shield like the ones ion loaders use, and tesla lightning spikes shoot out at enemies inside the shield while your action skill is activated)

work in progress! c'mon ppl if you like the concept throw some ideas at me.

Dancing Claptrap Robot

This is a project my friend (Ryan Chang) and I (Bashir Duranai-Khan) made for one of our University classes (FACS 3933 - Introduction to Physical Computing). The idea of the final project was to create something using arduino and could be in the form of an art related work, tool or interface to the computer using the skills learned throughout the course. During the time of creating our proposal I was really hooked on Borderlands 2 and thought, "Why not make Claptrap from the game and use the robotics theme for my final project." So my friend Ryan joined me as our projects were quite similar - "dancing robots."

HERE IS THE YOUTUBE LINK TO WATCH IT DANCE - (It's not that great - but oh well)

My first post >_<

Hi guys. I've been working on my Captain Scarlett cosplay. I wanted to show you my progress. My biggest challenge will be the peg leg which I still haven't figured out how I'm gonna do it.

Here is the completed hat.

Arsonist's Design Corner: Needs Your Votes!

So, I've given thought to trying to design a character class, as some are want to do on these boards. I mean, I've seen a lot of great ideas on these boards, and have wanted to get in on it for some time, but really, if you've looked at some of the other guides (or hell, even posts) I've done, I can't really do something 90%. I'm in 100 and crazy percent or I'm done with it. So here's the thing.

I have ideas for two Borderlands 2 classes. Both are radically different, and next week at work I'd like to flesh them out. Now when I say "flesh them out", I mean I'm going to be doing full out design on them, full tree design... all of it. I may do both eventually, but you know. One thing at a time.

So below are the two ideas and a general idea of how I'd like them and their trees to work, with some notes about the character, their background, and their personality. Flip through them, see what you like better, then vote on the above poll so I can kind of gauge which seems like a cooler idea.

So first up is...

Damon, the Psion

Inspired By: Dune , Star Wars, Psylocke (X-Men)

Theme Song: Tool - Vicarious

Background: The Psions are Hyperion's early answer to the Siren "Problem". Mainly that they were horrifyingly powerful and they didn't control them. Engineered from birth, these hyper-intelligent genetic creations were designed to have vastly increased mental capacity, be capable of long term solo survivability, and even have access to tools like telekinesis and telepathy. Their purpose was simple: to detain or kill any Sirens aimed against the Hyperion corperation.

The resulting program was a disaster. It sported a 95% mortality rate by the age of 14, and most of the subjects that did survive were insane, twisted and deranged by the mental and physical conditioning they were forced to go through. Given that the project had no profit potential for himself, and actually threatened his position by posing a threat to Angel, Jack dismantled the program immediately when coming to power. Any survivors were euthanized and quietly pushed away... save for a handful.

Damon was one of those. As the key codes were being entered that would destroy his mind forever, Damon broke free, killed a number of the guards that had housed him his whole life, and broke out into the galaxy. For the first few years he laid low, remaining hidden and taking odd mercenary and bounty hunting jobs, utilizing the only real "skill" that he had. When Hyperions increased presence on Pandora went public, he decided to pay "Uncle Jack" a visit, and have a few words about his brothers left behind in the facility.

Personality: Damon has a rather twisted world perspective. Part of the engineering he went through was to really drill home how superior he was to the average human, and he knows it. Narcissism, power, and torture have taken their toll, leaving a rather sarcastic being with no small amount of megalomania. But what's a little sociopathy among friends? He wants Jack dead at all costs, and *not* because he cares that much about pandora.

Action Skill: Fear
Cooldown: 20 Seconds

Damon reaches into a targets mind and overrides their fear sensors, causing them to cease attacking and run away in absolute terror for 6 seconds. During this time their fear disrupts fellow attackers, lowering their accuracy by 20%. If the target is immune to fear, it's movement speed and fire rate is reduced by 25% for the duration.

Skill Trees

Fury
This skill tree focuses on Damon's hate, and focuses that hate into damaging telekinetic attacks and enhances his attacks with standard guns. Look for fire rate increases, damage increases, and for fear to slowly evolve into an insanely destructive force with the more points that are dumped into tree.

Disruption
This skill tree enhances the chaos that Damon is able to inflict on the battlefield. This is achieved through a number of skill changes and a melee override to... comical effect. Knockback effects will be abundant, as well as effects that increase the debuff suffered by enemies looking at a feared ally. Also bolstered by defensive and offensive abilities to keep damon in the fray, enjoying the show.

Illusion
This tree for Damon focuses on his ability to cause hallucinations and manipulate the human mind, with a focus on "sleep" effects and illusions that are either offensive and/or defensive in nature, either protecting him or causing his enemies to turn on one another. Heavy amounts of damage avoidance and mitigation are paired in to maximize the effects of him marching through a maze of disoriented attackers.

Design Notes: On paper, and in my head... he may end up playing a bit like Maya. Then again, that's the point. He's the darker, snarkier foil to the uppity, aggressive Sirens. My main concern is that I design him a bit *too* much like Maya, and don't show manipulative/hateful side enough. That being said, I have nice ideas on all fronts, and am curious to see if I could make him unique enough.

And next on the list...

Raylan, the Outlaw

Inspired by: Justified, Django Unchained, Heist Movies

Theme Song: Seether - Country Song

Background: Raylan is a child of Pandora, "Born n' Raised" as he'd say. He was brought up in a Bandit camp, but being a Pandoran child of notable intelligence, he soon found that the Bandit life was not for him. For one, none of his clan seemed to think big enough. They jumped on every damn bounty and treasure rumor to ever go by them, which inevitably ended in their demise, usually by a better, more well armed group of bandits or a vault hunter. Not that Raylan wasn't enticed by said shinies, but from a young age he realized exactly how futile their continuous lemming runs are.

During his early teens, Raylan decided to wander the Galaxy, hoping to find a more civilized group of villians to run with. During this time he encountered a rather well organized group of thugs, and quickly rose through their ranks through his tactical genius and his unparalleled experience with weaponry. Score after Score went right for Raylan, and he began to get more bold. He eventually started to get into the "Big Game" as he called it, gathering advanced research and plans for weapons from several major manufacturer and implementing them into his own weaponry, as well as his gangs.

That all went south a few months before the vault hunters landed on pandora. The leader of said gang decided that Raylan's "familiarity" was growing a bit thin, and feared mutiny. So with that, he not only placed a bounty on his head to his own followers... but made sure each manufacturer knew exactly who had taken their weapons and where that person might be. Obviously this presented problems for the young bandit.

Looking to go somewhere, anywhere to get away from those who would have his head for cash, there was only one place Raylan knew he could go where only the stupid-beyond-comprehension would follow - His Homeworld, Pandora. However, a new company has taken an interest, and things aren't quite the same as he remembers....

Personality: The name is a tribute to Raylan, but the character takes after Boyd Crowder from Justified. Raylan has a burning desire to "Blow sh** up and make money", as well as a thoroughly honed hatred of hyperion for ripping up his homeworld. Unlike the other vault hunters, he doesn't have a designated piece of machinery, or expert skills to guide him. What he has is a head full of corperate secrets and the intellegence to replicate them as best they'd fit in to how he feels like blowing sh** up that day...

Action Skill: Anshin Reflective Bubble

Cooldown: 35 Seconds

Raylan activates the only equipment he was able to escape with - a highly experimental Anshin shield already implemented in certain Hyperion weaponry. The shield reflects any and all projectile attacks with 100% accuracy for 10 seconds. Melee attacks not only bounce off the shield as well, but deliver a high powered electrical charge to the attacker. The shield fails after a certain amount of damage is taken.

Brawler
The Brawler skill tree focuses on up close and personal attacks and weaponry to their maximum effect. It focuses on multi pellet type weapons, but particularly fancies shotguns and a combination of melee. In this build, Raylan utilizes his knowledge of Torgue gyro-jet technology and Anshin defensive abilities. Highly defensive/aggressive, with an "in your face" playstyle.

Bounty Hunter
The Bounty Hunter tree calls on Raylan's past, hunting and bringing in men for a cash reward. It focuses on single target DPS, along with tactical decisions that Raylan can use to increase the effectiveness of his teammates, while not neccesarily focusing on himself. Weapon specialty here are rifles - be they Assault or Sniper. To enhance these abilities he looks at Hyperion stabalizing technology, and Dahl burst fire techniques.

Rustler
The "Cowboy" tree, focusing on quick draw skills, high gun damage, and a little bit of con-man ingenuity. This tree focuses on pistols as his primary weapon set, particularly those that he can score a critical with easily. Here, he's adapted to Jakobs ingenuity, providing high "skill based" gunplay along with devastating criticals, combined with vladof fire rate and reliablity talents.

Design Concerns: Obviously the thought here is that each build is going to have a specific playstyle that it likes. Brawler is up close and personal, Bounty Hunter plays the Mid-to-Long Range, Rustler focuses on pistols and overall gun enhancement. Additionaly BH has a more "team oriented" approach with tactical decisions. I *really* like the idea of incorperating different weapons technologies in each tree, hinting at what you'd likely be using in said tree to the best effect. My main concern here is limiting myself too much by existing gun restrictions, but I'm going to be taking a very, very loose view of how these works to develop this class. Look for his action skill to be augmented in brawler, modified in bounty hunter, and maybe tossed right out the window for a different skill in the rustler tree.

So.

There's the two ideas. Poll is going up, lemme know what you think.

More mobs/Creatures

These are a few creatures the I would like to see added to Borderlands 2

Pet skags, like the nine-toes I'd like to see more use of the skags and Bandits living side by side, maybe one of the Nomad's can be a handler, come out of hiding with 2 chained up nasty looking skags and set them on you.

Hyperion Engineers with turrets, I would love to have to deal with axton style turrets while trying to make my way thru hyperion settlements.

State changing bullymongs, like the varkids and goliaths, I'd like to see a bullymong become enraged, not just happy to run at 1/2 speed into bullets.

Bount hunters: Hard and skilled foes that can appear at anytime with the sole intention of taking you down.

others:
I'd like to see more of the skills that the Ninja and cursed pirates use in DLC.
More use of midgets, flying, riding, hiding.

Rare Gear Ideas

Came up with some ideas for new Legendary/Unique loot. Opinions? Any suggestions of your own?

Guided Pathfinder Target acquired. Tediore launcher with rockets that actively seek out the last enemy in the sights before being fired. Reloads also have a strong homing effect.

Odyssey D'oh! Shotgun that fires a fixed spread of six pellets that rotate like a whirlpool.

Love Bite It's what I need. Pistol that trades reduced damage for greatly increased health transfusion.

Force May it be with you. Shock shotgun that calls down lightning when its electric projectiles make contact with an enemy. Functions like the Eridian Thunder Storm from the first game.

Miss Moxxi's Cupid The atmosphere is electric. Shock sniper with rounds that stick in the target and draw in the single closest enemy before exploding into electric hearts.

Watchful Angel Executing phase shift. Shield that regenerates health and ammo when full, but applies slag to the user when it's fully depleted, once every complete recharge.

Horse Trojan detected. Initial grenade doesn't cause any damage, but then it literally opens up and throws out a cluster of smaller grenades.

Jackpot Against the odds. Grenade has a chance to be of any type or element.

--REFERENCES--
Odyssey: Written by Homer, the red text references a different Homer. The weapon effect represents Scylla (six headed monster) and Charybdis (whirlpool).
Love Bite: Red text references a Def Leppard song of the same name (almost).
Force: Star Wars reference. In particular "Force Lightning".
Horse: Greek legend in which soldiers hid inside a wooden horse to gain entry to the enemy's ranks. The red text is a nod to antivirus software.

The Siren That Was A Man (my fan fic)

Chapter 1
An armoured van drives through the sparse, barren deserts of Pandora, The van comes to a stop, 2 armed men get out and open the back doors and a man rolls out and onto a huge mound of sand with sack covering his head and his hands tied behind his back.

He has what appear to be Siren tattoos running both of his exposed arms. He is dragged by the two armed men a few metres away from the van and is pulled to his knees, meanwhile a slick, well dressed man in a suit steps out of the van and stands in front of his victim and pulls the sack from around his head.

He struggles to keep his yellow eyes open as the sun reflects off the sand as he asks: “Are you going to shoot me now?”

The well dressed man replies while loading bullets into his cheap revolver: “You know the deal Argus, the Boss Mann hates Sirens, I have no idea where you got those markings on your arms or those yellow eyes, I don’t care either, the Boss Mann says that I’ll get a fat, juicy paycheque if you die by my hand, he seems to believe that you’re a real Siren, I don’t but the money is just too good!”

The man finishes loading the revolver, raises it to Argus’ head and pulls the hammer back with his thumb

As he readies to pull the trigger, Argus suddenly vanishes. The man gasps out of surprise and fear. He turns around to look at the armed guards; one shrugs his shoulder, the other trembles in fear. Explosions of blood come gushing out of the chests of both men; they fell to the ground as they’re blood sinks into the sand.

The well dressed man is standing with his jaw dropped in awe, the revolver is yanked out of his hand as he falls to his knees.

Argus re appears standing over the well dressed man with the revolver pointing at his head

“Who is your Boss, TELL ME!” said Argus ain an angry, serious tone

“I don’t know! I SWEAR TO GOD I DONT KNOW! I’ve never seen him before in my life his right hand man just tells me what he wants me to do and he mails me my pay! All I know is that he calls himself the Boss Mann, please you gotta believe me!!!” says the well dressed man in a high pitched voice

“Who would know your boss?!”

“I don’t know I swear to god! But wait... I overheard a conversation coming from the Boss Mann’s office... with a hit man, something about whacking some chick named Lilith in a bar in New Haven tonight! Ask the hit man! Let me go!!!” replied the well dressed man

“Thank You”, Argus shoots the man in the head and drives off in the van.

So, I was adviced to post my BL2 fanarts here!
Thread, where I had been posting before, and where you can find more - http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/sh...d.php?t=141216
But now I will be posting my fanart here (at least, BL2 fanart)

My obsession with Mordie and his birdfriend is unhealthy, I suppose.

...and with Axton, too.

I'm stuck with this one, and have no idea what to do, so now it's just my icon. Maybe one day I'll finish this drawing...

Introducing Brad as the Paladin

As of now, a 6th character DLC has been confirmed (don’t quote me on that) and here is my idea for a character that I would very much like to play as. I’m open for ideas, opinions and criticism.

I’ve noticed during my experience playing BL2 that there aren’t any skills that boost and help the team other than Maya’s harmony tree with the restoration and elated skills, so I came up with a class idea focused on team play.

Introducing Brad as the Paladin

Action Skill: Unity
A team buffer that starts with a damage reduction of 25% and can have more effects added in different skill trees. The skill doesn’t have an AoE and will buff the player as well. This could also include DT and Axtons turrets. 15 sec duration and a 40 sec cooldown.
There could be an *epic fist pump* animation and a cool light explosion every time the skill is used.

Melee Weapon
A giant two handed sword

Skill Tree 1: Revolutionist
This tree could focus on leadership abilities and utility teambuffs
Skills:
Stockpile: a constant aura that only gives ammo regen to teammates, no rockets or grenades
Focus: recoil reduction and accuracy added to Unity
Treasure Hunter: increases odds of finding better loot, you know you want it
Influential: cool down regen aura that only works for teammates
Wing Man: +3% to all stats for every player next to the player for only other players, confusing yes
Double Fist Pump: can use Unity twice per cooldown, tear 6 skill
Rally: increases the duration of Unity
Repulsion: when activating Unity, knock back all hostiles
Solar Powered: shields have increased recharge rate and lower delay during the day
Stamped: running into an enemy gives them any negative status effects you have, also works with tackle
Futurist: increases elemental status effect time on opponents an decreases time on you, works with stamped

Skill Tree 2: Prowess
Could focus on combat and DPS teambuffs
Skills:
Tackle: sprinting and jumping into enemies will knock them down
Dead Mans hand: when you are down all your remaining grenades are dropped
Battle Cry: a damage and fire rate teamboost for Unity
Bloodlust: kill skill that grants regen to player
Blitz: Unity adds movement speed and a shade more damage resistance
Loudmouth: cool down for Unity
Rebel: increase damage for player
Firebat: increase fire damage
Payback: after taking damage you gain a damage boost
Charge: shoot while sprinting and no accuracy penalty for jumping, works with tackle
Gun Kada: very fast reloads and improved accuracy
Smite: added melee damage, with a little health regen
All In: a constant aura giving the player and teammates a 25% damage, recoil reduction, bullet velocity and accuracy bonus, tear 6, seems OP

Skill Tree 3: Field Medic
Survivability and health and shield buffs
Skills:
Toughness: health boost
Stunt Man: explosive damage resistance
Adrenaline Rush: adds movement speed and regen to Unity, can run with blitz
STAT: from BL1 except it restores half of every ones health and shields when Unity is used
No Man Left Behind: a tear 6 skill that revives everyone with Unity, this seams way to OP though
I Am Ironman: immune to knockback and a shield boost
Mr. Apocalypse: health regen up to 5% per sec after 12 sec of no damage, 1% per level
Renaissance Man: a little better at everything,
Energize: everyone’s bonus shield effects are shared when inside player aura, possible tear 5 or 6
Innovator: Unity adds the lowest health and shield rating of the players to everybody for its duration, possible tear 6 skill

Story: The Previous president of Hyperion has feared that Hansom Jack would attempt to assassinate him so he put our player in charge of dealing with Jack. Brad and his squad where deployed to Pandora in peruse of jack. They inevitably are lured into a trap and the player is the only one who survives. He now wants to avenge his team and the recently deceased formal president of Hyperion. This was inspired by Chris Redfield from the RE franchise (poor Chris).

Just something about Paladins that are so badass.

Control Core Angel map: Peering into the transitions

Warning: Potential story spoilers ahead

I've wondered around about the transitions done on the killing Angel part, with the "phaseshifting", Lilith teleporting the VHs and all that. I toyed around the Control Core Angel map to peer through how such transitions were made.

At the start of the story, Angel executes phaseshifts and lets the VHs see her in person.
This is the area where you are placed at that point

Jack butts in and you get back to the "normal" area.

The place where the action, drama, and death unfolds.

After wandering around, I found another area. It reminds me of something though. Remember when Lilith teleports you?

... and asks you if she got you to Sanctuary?

Now, looking inside that "area"

Looks familiar?

So uh... you're technically not in Sanctuary at that point.

TL;DR: The Control Core Angel consists of 3 transition maps, unlike others that are made of a single, giant map.
