If you played Borderlands, you know that the "Bad Guys" are pretty much anything standing in your way. So I come to think, who are the most dangerous creatures in Pandora? Vault Hunters!
It could be easy to create an entire plot showing another perspective over the Vault Hunters. They opened Vaults triggering cataclysmic events. They destroyed corporations causing huge amounts of damages. They kill almost everything they see. They are as dangerous as any ancient civilization mass destruction weapon.
I didn't give much thought to this idea yet, but I thing that could work in two ways.
1) Faction system allowing you to choose to be a Vault Hunter yourself or a employee/mercenary for one of the corporations ruling BL universe. This allows to face characters such as Brick or Maya (zombie Roland as well). The only problem is that I can only see this working on BL3.
2) A wild group of new Vault Hunters appears! (oh, and they are ruled by zombie Roland btw). This could work as some kind of competition betwen Vault Hunters groups. That can even be a DLC without compromising the main game.
Both cases open the possibility of competitive online gameplay, instead of the currently bff online style.
So, anyone liked the idea? I'll appreciate if anyone helps with more thoughts.
