Here is my character idea:
Doctor Skop was a Hyperion scientist working on a prototype weapons system. When he learned that other Hyperion scientists tended to disappear when they finished their top secret projects, he decided to quit the company and escape with the weapon he was working on. He figured the backwater world of Pandora would be a great place to lie low before trying to sell his weapon. Then the vault opened.
Action Skill: Dr. Skop digistrucs the item he stole - a loader-like mech that he climbs into: The A55 Hyperion Ordinance Logistics Entity (or A55-HOLE).
The mech could be a slow-moving vehicle that carries a chain gun. He could be partially protected by armor while in it.
Melee Override Skill: Dr Skop deploys a handful (1 per rank) of small (1 foot tall or so) EXP-Loader-like robots that seek out enemies, grab on, and explode. They are the A55 Hyperion Assault Termination Sentries (A55-HATS).
Other possible skills:
- A 5-rank skill that adds speed and armor to the A55-HOLE
- A 1-rank skill that adds a mortar to the A55-HOLE. It could allow you to position a cross-hair while holding the action skill button. Releasing the button would launch the mortar round.
- A 5-rank skill that would add random elemental damage to each shot of the A55-HOLE's chain gun.
- A 5-rank skill that allows Dr Skop to automatically launch small grenades in all directions when taking grenade damage.
- A 1-rank skill that allows Dr Skop to remain in his A55-HOLE while in fight for your life.
- A 5-rank skill that greatly adds time that Dr Skop's A55-HOLE is deployed. It also greatly increases damage and fire rate to its weapons. However each shot fired now reduces the A55-HOLE deployment time.
- A 5-rank skill that allows Dr Skop to regen health while sprinting.
Personality: Dr Skop's call outs would mostly be like him making a log of his observations.
-getting slagged- "This slag goop smells profoundly disgusting."
-scoring a critical hit kill - "I wouldn't have predicted that messy result."
-entering Fight for your Life- "What an unfortunate change of status."
-scoring a critical hit- "That appears to have been quite effective."
-spotting health- "Oh, look. Health instead of loot. Interesting."
-completing a challenge- "It appears I am getting quite proficient at this."
