Borderlands-themed animated/video desktop background

Hey,

do you want something like an animated desktop background which shows e.g. rotating Elpis (Pandora's moon where BL:TPS takes place)?

Example

If so, you'll need two things:
  1. Dreamscene
  2. my Elpis video which will be the desktop background
By now I made only one video background but I'll add more if requested. Maybe the same video but with Borderlands 2/BL:TPS logo. Or a whole new scene. Just let me know what you want.

Install instructions:

If you understand German language you can watch the video above. Otherwise follow the explanation beneath.
  1. Download both files.
  2. Extract DreamScene Activator.zip with a program like 7zip anywhere you want.
  3. Right-click on DreamScene Activator.exe, Properties, Compatability tab, check Run as Administrator and hit OK.
  4. Run DreamScene Activator.exe.
  5. Click the slider. Wait until it says ON.
  6. Right-click on my dreamscene_elpis.wmv file or any video in WMV/MPG format and select Set as Desktop Background.
  7. If you run this app for the first time then restart your PC. Now the video that you selected will be set as the desktop wallpaper.

Troubleshooting:
  1. If you encounter transparent text beneath your icons on the desktop you could try the following:
  2. Make hidden files and folders visible (instructions).
  3. Right-click on your desktop, Personalize, Desktop Background (at the bottom), under Picture Location you should see Windows DreamScene and two small pictures should show up. Click on both of them and Save Changes.
  4. Now the text on the desktop should be perfectly visible again.
If this issue persists (reappears after restart) you can try the following:
  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Go to [your personal folder]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows DreamScene. There you should be two picture files. Mark both of them. Right-click on them, choose Properties, uncheck Hidden, check Read-only and hit OK.
  3. Right-click on your desktop, Personalize, Desktop Background (at the bottom), under Picture Location you should see Windows DreamScene and two small pictures should show up. Click on both of them and Save Changes.

I hope you like it. Cheers!
